Would you like to work in the mobility industry? We prepare you for a junior business analyst role in a project at one of our clients.
As a junior business analyst you are primarily concerned with delivering a project. When all developments are ready and tested, it is time for a pilot and then the roll-out. This is where you come into the picture; you ensure that everything runs smoothly and you closely monitor the roll-out and you are the first point of contact for this. You have daily or weekly calls with everyone involved.
Within Haia you will be trained and coached so that you can further develop yourself in Retail IT. We offer in-house courses that are specific to our industry. Through this role you can easily grow into a senior position, where you become a real expert in the field of Retail IT in the mobility industry.
Who are you?
- You have graduated (HBO or university) and have less than 3 years of work experience
- You are eager to learn and have a feeling for IT
- You have good communication skills
- You have a good command of both the Dutch and English language
- You are available full time
- Living in the Randstad, or willing to travel

Technical business analist
As a technical business analyst at Haia Consultancy, you will be deployed at various companies where you will work on a customer’s project. A business analyst is the pivot of the project team from the start to the delivery of the project. You are able to allow different parties to communicate well with each other and you translate the needs of the business into feasible technical solutions. It is therefore important that you have good technical insight, with a sense of IT, but also feel at home in the commercial aspect.
Many of our customers work within complex IT environments; you like this and making it your own is no problem for you. In addition to providing insight into the technical requirements, you are also working on improving or streamlining the business processes within the project. You understand how business processes work and what is important for the business. You also help coordinate and evaluate the User Acceptance Tests. You use this knowledge to optimize the project and achieve the intended objectives. You report directly to the Project Manager.
What do we ask of you?
- Completed HBO education in IT or demonstrable technical HBO work and thinking level
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in a similar position
- Passion for technology/IT
- You are independent and proactive
- Good communicative skills
- Good command of both the Dutch and English language
- Full time available

Internship assignments
IFSF – International Forecourt Standards Forum – is a group that focuses on standardizing communications and interconnectivity at service stations. They have developed the IFSF protocol, which is the most widely used protocol for communication between equipment and software at a gas station. Think of communicating from the pump outside to the cash register system inside that someone has taken the hose out and would like to refuel. IFSF is a protocol designed exclusively for this industry, both for communication between hardware on the station and communication between hosts for payment traffic.
IFSF defines eight primary site operations applications (Point-of-Sale/Service, Controller Device, Unmanned Controller Device, Forecourt Device Controller, Car Wash Controller, Electronic Payment System, Electronic Loyalty System and Fuel (Wet)Stock Management). The IFSF has designed messages for between these eight site operations applications and the equipment at the station. Due to the energy transition there is a lot of movement in the market, but the technology often lags behind. Strangely enough, to this day there is no complete simulator and toolset for the IFSF protocol. What is available at the moment is a simple simulator with ‘normal’ trades. For example, if you want to test a cash register or a forecourt controller, it would also be good to be able to simulate certain error situations in a simulator, so that you can perform a full E2E test and thus discover bugs at an early stage that would otherwise appear on the screen. gas station in live setup would only emerge. What we are actually looking for is one fully integrated simulator of an entire gas station, instead of the loose and often outdated components we have now.
This simulator should be easy to ship, for example on a Raspberry Pi (for illustration only, a Pi is not a must). In addition, you should be able to manipulate the simulator easily so that you can simulate all kinds of scenarios.
This internship assignment also includes a ‘preliminary research’ to map out exactly what is currently on the market in terms of IFSF simulators and what is missing/needs to be adjusted in order to be able to develop and deliver a fully working product.
If there is still time within the internship assignment, it is also important to investigate the development of APIs by IFSF. At the moment there are no cash register systems or dispensers with IFSF API, so it is important that both sides can be properly tested in the long term.
The mobility industry is a very specific industry with industry-specific knowledge, something that is not comparable to the standard retail industry such as in a store. The intention is that you enjoy doing research and making the material your own, but of course we guide you in the sector-specific knowledge. At Haia you really get a foundation in the mobility industry, which can give you a big advantage for a possible further career in this industry.
